This is a wonderful hands-on activity in which students can build the key components of the immune system and 'see how they coordinate to fight the 'good fight'! These activities complement the Star's Notes Module VII: Lymph & Immune Systems: 'Working Together to keep all Systems Safe'. These activities can be built along with Module VII, after as lab activities, or stand alone 'pocket lessons' for review. However you choose to place these awesome hands-on lessons into your curriculum, the results will be wonderful. You will see students be able to transform difficult content about the lymph system and white blood cells into activities that are logical and understandable.
Table of contents:
I. Components of the Lymph System:
A. Creating a Lymph node
B. Creating a Lymph System
II. Building Your Army of WBCs:
Enjoy these hands-on lessons as you watch your students understand two systems that have previously been so abstract. Your students learn through these kinesthetic activities and can apply these lessons to their own bodies, daily lives, and the disease process. Their retention and participation will be phenomenal! I look forward to hearing how much fun and success you experience!
